Behavioral Health

Finding a job where you enjoy your work and the people you work with at the same time is not easy, but that is exactly what I have enjoyed most about working at Potomac Valley for the last eight years. At Potomac Valley, your work is appreciated and everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow. I’m glad to be part of a team that works well together.

- Mel H., Administrative Assistant
I’d like to thank you all for the supportive care you gave my Dad (and Mom) in his final days. Your Palliative Care program is outstanding and was so important for his end of life. I can’t thank you enough for helping Dad and all of us through a sad part of life.

Ellen's Story

Ellen’s lifelong psychological challenges increased with age and a short-stay with us helped her return confidently home. Read what her husband has to say about our SUCCESS behavioral health program and the difference it made in their lives.

Successfully navigating a behavioral or other psychological challenge requires specialized support.

At Potomac Valley our unique SUCCESS℠ program enables people with short- or life-long mental health issues to maximize independence and maintain family relationships.

While skilled nursing is always a component of SUCCESS℠, rehabilitative therapy services can also be incorporated if needed.

An innovative four-step approach drives SUCCESS℠.

  1. We begin with a 'holistic' assessment process, evaluating every single aspect of the medical, psychological, pharmaceutical, nutritional and physical elements that may impact psychological wellbeing.
  2. From this we work with the resident to develop goals that are targeted within an individualized SUCCESS℠ plan.
  3. Support and goal monitoring is carried out by our SUCCESS℠ team. This includes physicians, Nurse Practitioners, psychiatrists, neurologists, consulting pharmacists, psychiatric nurse specialists, social workers, clinical dietitian and others.
  4. Lastly we facilitate a successful transition to a place of higher independence.
