At another facility I
was bed-bound all the time and had developed what is described as Stage
Four pressure ulcers on my back and ankle. To try to get them to heal,
the other facility put me on a feeding tube. I was a mess. People who
know me were shocked at the shape I was in when I was admitted to
Potomac Valley. I regret that I didn’t find them sooner.
Almost immediately Potomac Valley started me on a wound vacuum, which
really sped up my healing. Through specialized nutritional support they
were also able to discontinue the tube feeding. I had rehabilitation
therapy to build myself back up physically, too, because I had become so
frail.
When I left my
wounds were healed. I could walk and eat normally. They helped me
transition to an assisted living facility and things have been great. I
am so grateful to the staff at Potomac Valley!
